Brief Description:  Left Wing Shear Web

Masked off aft of the Shear Web and sanded hardshell, causing a couple of dramatic gouges. [Sigh]. I'm really just practicing with the hardshell to see if I will bother with the Wing skins. Don't reckon I will. Prepped remaining foam and applied Shear Web layup. 2 x UNI full span @ 45 degrees, the same again from the root to 39" from the tip and the same again from the root to 91" from the tip. Followed the plans this time, leaving a right angled triangle of un-glassed bit on one side of the Spar Cap trough each time, with only minor liberties with the 45 degrees did not need extra.

As I'm wetting out the 3rd ply I am aghast to discover LWA6 is on the wrong side of the Shear Web! Peel off the glass, hack out LWA6 and grind off the micro. Hack out the foam on the upper side of the Shear Web and micro LWA6 in the correct place. Micro a scrap of foam into the wrong place and re attach the plies. Go and have a coffee, then complete the layup. What an a55hole!

Before cleaning up shuck off the gloves and check the Right Wing, LWA6 in the right place. AGAIN I have been caught installing something on the same side as last time. If I had to build another pair of wings I would REMARK the floor, so everything would not need visualisation.

Applied peel ply from the tip onto the fresh layups, much easier to wet out. Removing masking while layup wet, impossible to remove after cure without leaving tape behind, (ugly)!
