Not particularly happy with the last layup. The transition at the edge of the 7 x BID is particularly abrupt, and a lot of resin has drooled out over the surrounding area. Most unattractive. Spent some time smoothing the transition and removing lumps with sandpaper and a dremel sanding drum.

When reluctantly happy with the result grabbed my AL angle and started to mark it up for cutting. Cold hand of horror grips me when I notice each piece is 2" long, my hardpoints are only 1" long! I had been misled by the description in the plans of the 1" x 1" AL hardpoints. Plans are referring there to the widths of each leg of the 'L', not its length. Perplexingly, the photos of the hardpoints at the end of the chapter look just like my points. Crap.

Figured I was time limited on removal, until full cure I theorised the heat gun would affect the hardpoints before it would damage the underlying structure. So it proved, layers coming off in gummy plies, the underlying glass stays hard, maybe helped by a mask of AL kitchen foil. Removed plies are hard and crunchy again when cool. Removed the ply with a wood chisel, and sanded off the flox with a dremel grinding wheel and sanding drum. Power sand the result down to the bottom of the flox. What a wasted of time and effort.
