Brief Description:  Fitting Nose Gear, preparing to fit Rudder Pedals

Removed peel ply and opened up bolt holes.

Rigged Rudder Pedals, allowing 3/4" clearance with NG-30. Marked tubes for drilling out the bolt holes. Checked movement range, outboard pedals will move forward 5.5" from vertical until they hit the sides. Reckon that will be plenty.

Marked up fuselage bottom from Gear with set square, seemed to work OK. Tried to cut out the bottom, to re-use the skin and foam for side-opening gear doors. Didn't work, maybe would have if the Fus had been inverted, (the way the plans say to do it), but I want to sort out the Nose Gear box first. This means I have cut the outline of the Gear Doors, then cut out the Gear opening, starting the corners with a hole saw, then doing the rest fairly roughly with multi-tool plunge cuts.

Retracted the gear manually, and adjusted the hole. With 1/4" of tyre showing I am not at the uplock, but the strut has contacted F-22. Will relieve F-22 a bit and try again.

Trial fitted an internal nose gear cover I got from another builder. It was a rightly discarded part, seems a bit big in all directions, and way heavy. Don't see why it wouldn't make a fine mold though, and I would have to cut it up to do that.

A fun day, but my neck is sore from the upside down work.
