Brief Description:  Preparing for Canard upper spar cap

Sanded upper shear web and taped it and surrounding foam. Finished profiling the existing micro along LE of shear web.

Rigged deviant PORT inner LE core straight by shimming under support under the center of the deviation, and screwing the surrounding blocks to the table. Looks good.

Unfortunately, this has dragged the TE out of line at the same point, has even bent the PVC pipe. Now regret not spending a bit more for a steel tube.

Screwed the TE of the jig block to table, this popped the bondo between the block and the tube.

Drilled through the pipe and screwed the pipe to the block. This popped the bondo between the TE of the canard and the tube, and the tube is still not straight. Muttered expletives for a while.

Decided to deal with this in parts, and screwed an extra block to the table, and screwed the tube to this and adjusted until the tube was level and lovely, trying to ignore the sharp little sounds of bondo popping off the tube all along the TE. More regrets about using PVC, the bondo is not sticking well. Maybe should have roughed it up a bit.

Re-bondo the TE to the tube, using small wood screws to hold the alignment right. Check everything with a stringline, and find a few more places where the TE was not straight enough. Adjust all this with wedges, bondo and more wood screws. After a reasonable cure time took out one screw and the bondo popped off. Reapplied with 5-min epoxy, and left the rest to cure until tomorrow.

There is a bit a gap between the LE of the spar cap of the central Canard core and the inner ones, decide to build up this gap with micro. Make a jig to approximate the profile I want, and prop this between the inner cores, braced and taped to the shear web.

Trowel in micro and bits of foam into the gaps, and profile the rest of the edges of the spar cap by applying micro from a piping bag, (made by snipping the corner of a small freezer bag), smoothing with a finger.
