Brief Description: Canopy latches - final installation/fettling
Concentrating on other stuff, but spending a bit of time of the last few weeks reinstalling and fettling the canopy latches. Was having the greatest of difficulty remembering how it all goes together and how many washers of which sort go where. Takes me a long time to figger out that my arrangement leaves no adjustment available on the two latches on the torque tube, other than refiguring the hook part, and I need to work on one at a time. It took me longer to figure out the right rear is the one to fettle first. Figure out what adjustments are needed and thankfully notice that one of my problems is the canopy is not closing properly!
There is a thick buildup of paint on both sides of the mating surfaces aft. Using some carbon paper I find the interference and relieve it until the canopy closes properly again. Some touching up needed at some point. When I've got it all working.
