Popped the cover off and removed the formwork. Trimmed it until I could get it on and off. The bits under the forward gast strut mounts particularly challenging. Also couldn't layup under them previously, so hot glued some foam inside the channel and 2 x BID patch applied.
Re-taped the IP area.
Was unable to achieve the nicely rounded trailing edge described in the plans, and not evidenced in my explorations at Rough River either. Decided to build up the edge from below, then round it off afterwards.
Applied 6 x UND tapes 1/2" wide to the underside of the trailing edge and parallel to it, then 2 x UND over that at 90/45 2" wide, and peel plied. No pictures of this, hadn't noticed the camera was flat. Note that all my remaining MGS 285 has leaked out the bottom of its container, leaving me about 500ml in the ready use bottle. Hmmmmm. Spend ages cleaning it all up.
