The cowling is not a particularly good fit for the firewall.
The top of the fuselage flange and the trailing edge of the top of the turtleback do not follow the curve of the cowling well.
Cut, heat and peel off the top of the flange, leaving ears which locate the cowling well. Trim the flange, the trailing edge of the turtleback and the leading edge of the cowling until every thing lines up and the lines flow well.
The cowling has come from the factory a bit over-trimmed at the sides. Hmmmmmm.
Prep sanded, and sanded off most of the original installation tapes, then filled the divots with micro and re-applied 2 x UND patch between the turtleback and the firewall, with peel ply.
