Brief Description:  Canard bottom finishing/Access hole covers

New Wests 206 slow hardener J2117698
New Wests 105 resin F2117338

Finish sanded canard bottom and did the resin wipe thing, with breaks, 5 coats, 1.5 hours apart.

Used leftovers from 1st coat to prep starboard brake fairing, but this was interupted by a massive exotherm. I haven't got the hang of this West stuff yet. Profoundly grateful I bought the slow hardener, the pot life is short compared to the MGS.

The baking paper worked a treat! The glass just lifted off, the baking paper just peeled off the work with no drama, leaving a smooth satin finish on the part. Much, much better looking and easier than peel ply, but I'm not sure I would use it if contemplating a secondary bond.

Cut out the parts, and trimmed one. It is quite impressive, but far stronger and stiffer than required, and came out at 0.035" thick. Comparable to a reasonable aluminium alternative.

Made another set using the same method, and the same bits of baking paper, 1 x carbon BID and 1 x 4oz.
