Brief Description:  Brake fairings

Ongoing fiddling and trimming over the last few days, including re-polishing and coating the cover form with mold release, and marking the outline of the completed portside part.

Next part of the bracketting is a flange to attach composite heat shields. I make a 3mm mdf template, doubled, and clamp this to the brake rotor on the re-fitted wheel. I hot glue some wedges of mdf to attach the template to the gear leg, fill the gaps with modelling clay, and box tape the result, Discover that filament tape makes a much nicer fillet shape in the corners than the box tape whilst patching something, so spread around some more filament tape. I've been trying to find something to use it for since trimming the main gear leg!

Off with the wheel, and the brake caliper, tape the brake line out of the way and put a little plastic fence around it..

Backfill the extended leg fairing and layup the flanges with 3 x BID wet out and transferred on peel ply, mostly using 2" tapes, and some cut to match paper templates, with gaps to the strut filled with flox.

4 x BID over the brake cover form, with one extra ply on the flat face, same as last time.
