Brief Description:  Nose door

Finished shaping my idea of what the fuselage top/canard cover should look like, and it does not really match the trailing edge of the nose. On the other hand, the lip-relief matches the plans 0.2" in depth, so maybe it is enough?

In the recent past I have decided to replace the nose door. If for no other reason the curve of the forward corners just looks wrong with the placement of the screws. Rather than having a fully removable canard cover I will have a removable center section, with fixed outboard. I will extend the nose door all the way back to F28, and see how that works, intending to trap it under a flange extending forward from the fixed part of the fuselage top. There will be a dip in the middle, which will be fixed with the rest of the nose in the finishing process. Or maybe earlier with some pour foam.

Hot glued the old nose door in place, over some spacers, 0.08" for the thickness of the door, (because the canard foam has not been relieved yet), and 0.039" for the extra 3 x BID on the back.

Sanded back an incredible lump in the old door I had never noticed before, then blocked out the forward corners with hot glued mixing sticks and taped the lot.

Wet out 3 x BID overall on peel ply and transferred to nose, and weighted under foam.
