Brief Description:  Strake leading edge and fuel gauge probe

Further inspection reveals a bit of a dip between the ribs and a bit of a kick-up at the tip. Block it down to line up with the wing root, leaving about a 1/16" dip between the ribs.

Cut the foam for the leading edge planking, enough to go just beyond vertical. It will be easier to do the rest with the fuselage inverted.

Replace rear armrests and marked where they will need trimming to miss the sight gauge tapes, remove them and trim them.

Masked sight gauges with duct tape and rough up gauges and surrounds for taping.

Dremel routed down to the inner skin for the starboard Ugolini capacitance guage probe. Routed a shallow trench to the fuselage side, and drilled through the side, ending up exactly under the longeron.

I cut the central hole with a box cutting knife as indicated in Nick's instructions. I cut 3 sides with the point of the knife, bent up the resulting tab and cut the last side. Managed to not drop the bit inside the tank and am left with a very neat if square hole. Nice work Nick. Occurs to me I could have a further look with the borescope, but can't be buggered, this is too interesting.

Install the Princeton control units on the firewall inside the cabin over the upper engine mount hard points with some short wood screws.

Fitted the sender wire to the control unit and fed it through the hole in the fuselage, fixing temporarily inside with masking tape in a pleasing fashion. Soldered other end to probe.

Ran #24 AWG PTFE earth cable through the same hole/trench, fitted the provided terminal and attached the earth.

Couldn't figger a way to get 12V to the control unit to test the installation, without risking my lovely car or the control unit, so I'm done for today.
