Brief Description: Sight gauges, sump tank vent and fuel drain
Plugged the inlet tubes with some plastic stretched over a candle and installed sump sight gauge with flox around the inlet tubes inside the tank, covered with some overlapping plies of 4oz.
Taped the starboard sight gauge tube into the jig, and installed inlet tubes and bottom cap with flox.
Had problems previously taping the nose of R33 on the acute angle so tried a different approach. Made a form from cushion foam, put 2 x BID and 1 x 4oz over it and pushed it into the port strake and held it in place with a brick. Finished the remaining port strake tapes as well.
My good wife had bought me a 3" stainless steel strainer and I now floxed the innards of iit over the sump tank vent in the starboard fuel tank, using a clamping jig like I used for the main strainers. It had worried me that my vent would allow un-strained fuel into the sump.
Had a bit of leftover flox, so installed the hardpoint for the starboard fuel drain. I first found the location by rolling a marble around the nose of the tank to find the lowest point with the plane on its nose, and was able to find a natural low point without any ramps.
