Brief Description:  Fuel sight gauges

I've been pondering sight gauges for a while now, and have decided to go with a novel concept. I did not include the plans sight gauges, I don't like the plans location either and have planned for years that they would go in the leading edge of BAB inside the cutout, but now the moment is upon me I want to put them on the corner. I am using a design pioneered by somebody else, who doesn't know his design has been passed on via another person. Sorry, but it is a lovely idea so I'm using it. The sight gauge is based on Schedule 40 clear PVC tubing, with the ends plugged with flox, feeding to the tank through 3mm tubing, (I'm using brass because I have some). They are mounted just clear of the inner skin, with the gap filled with silicon to offer a white sighting background..

I picked up the tubing at a supplier in Melbourne. I admitted, (as I usually do), that it was going in an airplane. This so distracted the man in shop from his social distancing he gave me a meter of 20mm OD tubing free!

The plan is to make cutouts that will accomodate 25mm tubing jigs, and then rough out forms out of ordinary 20mm tubing before cutting up the Sked 40.

Finished profiling the upper side of the luggage cutouts.

Hogged out foam/glass from the corner, flush with the upper longeron, and extending to the outer lower skin of the strake. There isn't a skin there yet, so it is a hole... Dremel with a 1/2" drum was the most effective tool.

Marked up the center of the forward bulkhead of the sump tank and hogged it out as well.
