Brief Description:  Turtleback mounting

Trimmed layup, and cut slots for C-8.

Floxed in C-8 and clamped with hot glue block spacers. Refitted the firewall braces with hot glue. Rounded the aft edge of the firewall with 1/16" radius router bit.

Hot glued some 1/16" plastic window packers from Bunnings Aerospace to the longerons as spacers and floxed on the turtleback. Note as I was securing the aft flange to the firewall that the whole thing was skewed reference the front seatback, de-secured, adjusted and resecured. This was a bit much for some of my glue blocks on the firewall, so kept the profile going with a motley collections of nails, screws and clamps. The plans indicate you should skin the turtleback then tape it on. This seems dumb, I will skin it in place and attach it to the outer fuselage and firewall with the overlapping skin. Maybe 6' 3" makes this easier for me than it would for Nat...
