Brief Description:  Nose Gear final installation

Trimmed layup, much better.

Tried for ages to refit the nose gear strut. The NG-6 bearings just fall out if you blink, and the washers I had superglued inside NG30 just pop off. Sooner or later I am going to drop it and break something. Removed the fork and shimmy damper and the whole thing is more managable. Torqued it up with 3 wide area washers inside the NG30 and all seems secure. Fitted the MKNG03 bolt.

Note the nose tyre is down to 20psi, so I have a problem. Remove the wheel from the fork, and reattach the fork with shimmy damper greased and torqued up properly.

Strip the wheel, and did not find the pinched tube I expected, but a slow leak from where the brass valve tubing emerges from the rubber. Need a new tube 4.10/3.50-4. Tyre is 10 x 3.50-4. Grease the bearings and reinstall the wheel as it is for shop mobility.

Start to plot how to support the fuselage level, because even with the main gear level it rocks around more than I am happy with, and a slowly deflating nose tyre will frustrate futher. Decide I need blocks under the main strut ends, and a sawhorse at the front, with the nose gear partly retracted.
