Brief Description: Sump tank drain plug
|
|
Cleaned the drain plug hardpoint and trial fitted a drain plug. It will hang out in the breeze a bit more than I expected, but I don't want the pickup any higher in the tank. May need an exterior fairing later. Removed drain plug, filled hole with wax and hot glued the hardpoint into place, with a bit of packing.
Prepped foam, filling gaps with micro, made with E-Z Poxy for the first time. E-Z 10A resin and E-Z 87B hardener. I may refer to it as Aeropoxy from time to time. Sorry, I keep getting confused with the similar name, but I am definitely using E-Z Poxy. 2 x UNI applied in line with the original bottom plies, plus 1 x BID overlapping the edge of the existing glass by 0.75", and each ply 0.5" overlapped. The E-Z Poxy handles quite differently to MGS, wets out much slower, but reacts to a bit of heat really well, greatly aiding wetting out.
Had so much fun applied 1 x BID overall each side of the sump tank/seat forward and side bulkheads with peel ply.
Note the gear does not clean up as well with vinegar. Hmmmm.
Fiddled with Landing Brake actuator a bit more, and tried floxing on the clickbonds.
