Brief Description:  Electrical Conduit

Approaching the end of CH20, so considering what to do next. The plans indicate a good next step is the armrests and seats, easier to do before the strakes. First step is the electrical conduit, so select a nice bit of scrap timber and prepare as a moulding form. Decide to check what modern practice is on the interweb before laying up.

Am stunned to discover that most modern builders have deviated from the plans and:

# Make the armrests removable,

# Secure the cables directly to the sides with some sort of standoff, some with adel clamps secured to clickbonds, some with a channel, some with a stand-off allowing the use of a zip-tie. NOBODY uses the conduit, and those that have them regret it. Hmmmmm.

I really like Nick Ugolini's method, but spend some time thinking about how to simplify the design.

Wander back up to the shed and knock up a form from a bit of scrap timber with some 3mm mdf stuck to it, with box tape over all.
