Brief Description:  Right Aileron hinges

Quite disappointing...

Flox interferes with hinge halves fitting together, hog out with 1/4" wood chisel until mating possible.

Trial fit, and hinge is not perfectly aligned. It has pulled down into the face of the Aileron more tightly than the bondo allowed, so the trailing edge of the aileron is 0.07" forward of the trailing edge of the wing. Need to try again, with something more like the flox than bondo.

Watched some EAA videos on how to remove rivets, and removed the rivets. Heated the hinge half with heat gun and popped it off. It took the 1 x BID off A5!!!

Remounted the Aileron and looked closely at the gap between the hinge and the hinge pad. Packed with tape to match observations, remounted and observed again. With the pads in place the hinge halves contact the pads nicely.

Prep exposed A5, sand back surrounding BID, and apply 1 x UND & 4 x BID over outer hinge pad. Center hinge is fine, Applied 1 x BID and 2 x UND full width over inner hinge, then 1 x BID over inner 2/3, and 1 x BID over inner 1/3 and peel plied all.

Cut a new Aileron side A4 hinge half, and drilled in a mirror pattern to the old so I can hit clean sites on the Aileron hardpoint. Retained the old, it will work fine on the left Wing!
