Brief Description:  Ballast Compartment

Micro'd foam wedges under can holders and taped 2 x 2+2 from can holder to nose, from can holder to underside of NG-32 (with flox fillet) and from upper side of NG-31 into can holder interior.

Floxed nose bowl assembly onto fuselage and secured with 6 x cleco, well greased with assembly lube.

Tried to tape from the inside, but was disturbing existing tapes. Cleaned up the flox fillet and left the taping to later.

Final opinion of the pre-fab nose bowl? I am happy that I have exactly the arrangement I am happy with. If I had done the plans method I would have receptacles for 3 cans, the internal pitot and a nose light, and it wouldn't have all fitted. After completion I would have had to cut it off and start again, like I did. T

he other way of looking at it is the prefab nosebowl has cost me over a month of extra small cure cycles, and given me a final shape that will require fill to look good. Fitting the bulkheads into the nose bowl was an absolute PITA. Having sorted out what I want, if I have to build it again I would use the plans method.

It has been there before, but it is stuck on now. I'm looking for the cleco that fell into the bin...
