Brief Description:  Ballast Compartment

Trimmed layups. Occurs to me some may be finding it difficult to follow what I'm up to if they are reading the plans. I am using a Feather Lite nose bowl, instead of making my own by shaping foam and glassing over it. It has generated significant extra work, with many small steps for cure cycles. As it happens this suits the build schedule imposed on me at the moment, working MON-FRI, 1100-1800, rather than more flexible shift work. I believe I have been able to get the Ballast Compartment more the way I want it than could have been achieved the plans way, so I'm glad I've taken this rout.

Trial fitted NG-31, and cut 2 x NG-32 to suit from 1/4" hoop pine. Plans have one on the c/l, but I want to have the central Ballast Can there. Could just have one assymetric, but don't want to.

Cut away outside glass and foam down to the Ballast Hatch flange with multitool and dremel with grinding bit.
