Brief Description:  Nose Cone

Bit more research firms a plan to glass the sides, then install the Nose Cone, the only bit I need first is the Puck mount. Play with some templates and ideas anyhow, as I bought some rubber door seals from Clark Rubber today and am pondering how to install.

Decide to form a flange by attaching some foam inside the nose bowl, glassing the inside, then forming the required shape on the outside, and taping it all up.

The only critical thing at this point is I need a mould of the inside of the nose to make a nose window from sheet acrylic, drape moulded, and I need to make and test this before destroying the inside of the Nose Cone. Want the pleasantly ugly shape of a BAC Strikemaster headlight. Just because.

Line the Nose Cone with polythene film and squodge in some plasterboard jointing material, for a window mould.

Cut up some test blanks from scruffy 1/8" acrylic for testing, and try some smaller bits in the oven. 135C seems to work fine, though it got a bit mangled trying to trim the edges with scissors. Won't do that again.

Spend some time on W&B and estimate I need 2 x 440ml and 2 x 375ml cans of lead for the first flight. Only need room for 2 x 440 and 1 x 375 in the Nose Bowl. Possibly doable.
