Brief Description:  Canard tips

Trimmed Canard tip bottom layup and top overlaps. Found it easy to remove the glass overlapping the duct tape with the multitool. Just kept grinding at it until I struck tape.

Cut STBD hinge pin to length, tapered end and drilled 1/16" hole in drill stand. Ruined one bit before I learnt to do it slow and continuous, with plenty of cutting compound. Discovered it was easier (as in possible) to punch the drill hole by grinding a flat on the pin first.

Removed STBD hinge pin tube due misalignment. :(

Am finding fitting the hinge pins an absolute bear, particularly with the Canard inverted. Am able to get the pin through the rivet hole instead of the hinge pin hole in the center NC-2 in each elevator if I'm not careful. Takes frikken ages each time.

Filed the notches in the STBD hinge pin for the grub screw through NC-6. Best tool was a 3/16" chain saw sharpening stone in the dremel, finishing with a small file. Rather than ding up the grub screws with trial fitting, used an AN-3 bolt, um, actually a flat-head screw, same size, different number.

[Timewarp 04SEP15: Had the idea today to have some short lengths of 3/16" rod and just insert them through the outboard NC-2 and the Offsets. I only had 3/16" threaded rod, and this works brilliantly, if only when the spool piece is not attached, and makes it quick and ez to fit the elevators, check clearance or whatever, and remove again with minimum farting around.]
