Brief Description:  Landing Brake preparation

Marked Hinge line for Landing Brake. Found the plans method of drilling up from the leading corner of the seatback difficult. Had to fart around with a cardboard template to get the 6" either side of the centerline working over the heat duct, and couldn't get a vertical hole. After cutting a heap of mess the result coincided with the line I'd drawn in CH06. Complete WOFTAM.

Trimmed remaining bondo

Trimmed remaining raised edge on inside of Landing Brake bevel.

Tried cutting a 1/8" trench inside the fus cutout using router. Works fine, but won't reach the edges. Use the travelling box?

Played with the Linak actuator bought from John Wilson. Seems pretty wide, and will need mounting outboard of plans location, as will the slot in the bottom and LB-19. Marked up how it should install on the full size template

Has forked couplings on the ends, meaning I don't need a bracket surrounding it like other installations I've seen, but one sitting within the fork. I'll use the plans bracket for the lower, but mount it back-to-back. Also note it needs a 1/4" bolt vice the plans 3/16". Actuator is 9.65" retracted and 14.75" extended. Seems a bit more than the plans manual version, which looks more like 4" throw. Actuator operates fine on a 9v battery.
