Brief Description:  Taping bulkheads

Did on 12 and 13 May.

Removed clamps, checked levels and cleaned up excess flox.

Taped F22, Instrument Panel & Seatback.

Added 4 x BID to rear face of F22/fuselage.

Have finally found a method of taping that works for me, the plans method is complete pants, going completely shapeless when peeling off the plastic/wax paper.

SPOD'S TAPING METHOD

1. Place pattern on table

2. Place builders plastic over pattern

3. Place peel ply over pattern

4. Wet out pre cut tapes over peel ply

5. Carry tape on peel ply to work and slap it on.

Peel ply can be removed without distorting tape, and replaced if neccessary.

Also discovered was easier to do the bit around the upper longeron and the rest separately, on consecutive days.

Also also discovered can trim the tape over a plastic cutting sheet with a 'pizza' cutter without completely cutting the peel ply!

[Timewarp 14JAN15: Have just discovered that dry micro can be applied into a void almost as easily as raw epoxy! See this date for instructions, but it is easy!]
