Brief Description:  Cut pieces for the landing light lens bracket.

Sonex does not include plans for landing or position lights because Sonex is a sport plane for daylight flights. Additionally pilots holding a Sport license are restricted from flying at night. As a Private pilot I am allowed to fly at night and although I do not expect to do flying after dark in the Sonex, I am putting on the lights so that I can have light in the early morning before daylight while preparing for a flight or if I where to arrive home at dusk the lights will provide additional visibility and be helpful on the ground.

I bought the landing light lens from Duckworks and started to layout and cut the bottom skin mounts for the lens. I erred again by drilling the skin to accommodate the 4 screw holes for the nut plates but got a little crazy and drilled the nut plate holes by mistake. This was immediately followed by another sick feeling in my stomach.

I continued to prepare the mount and got it to work but I still have the extra holes. I don't believe that it will be a problem but I'll have some discussion during my next EAA inspection.
