Brief Description: Finish Bottom LE skin, Landing Light, and Lens.
Today I fabricated the brackets that hold the landing light lens in place, the bracket is riveted together countersunk screw holes. I installed nut plates so that the bracket can be removed if required to replace the lens. I drilled and dimpled the LE skin above the light cutout for the screws to hold the lens bracket.
Ratchet straps go back on for the last time and after pulling the skin down about 2 inches from the main spar I finished the install of the landing light lens. It looks really good so I ratcheted the LE skin into position a clecoed every hole which seemed like overkill but I wanted to be certain everything aligned perfectly. With everything clecoed and inspected I started riveting the LE skin. The riveting went very smooth with no problems.
I will start trimming the fiberglass tip next and then flip the wing and rivet the top.
