Brief Description: Ailerons: Completed RH Aileron, started LH Aileron
* Finished up the RH Aileron except for 2 rivets between the counterbalance plates. I'll need to remove the lead to drill and rivet in between the plates.
* Had a problem with the RH outboard tip installation. Plans called for rivet holes in the top skin to be drilled 1/2" in from the edge. However, the tip could not be pushed in far enough, and I had to redrill 1/4" from the edge to catch the middle of the tip flange.
- See image #2: I filed the holes on the edge of the skin to make U's with radiused corners to avoid stress risers. New holes are on the red line and in between the first ones.
- I'll talk to Sonex about how to fill the extra skin holes - either with rivets or some type of filler. If filler, it needs to be something that won't vibrate loose.
* Started on the LH Aileron, which was previously marked up. - Cut out the drive horn indentation - Drilled pilot holes for the center and inboard ribs - Drilled the ribs up to #30, deburred and clecoed both into place
