When I was installing the cowl to check my oil door operation I had one of those moments we aircraft builders dread....it's when you discover you've shot yourself in the foot when you thought you were being brilliant. I placed the G3X antenna where I did in order to get the best reception on my largest GPS screen....and in so doing, made the pins on the top cowl impossible to intall through the oil door as intended. Well...shit.
So, I cut an access panel into the top cowl and will access the pins from the outside. The compromises of building an airplane.
