I had to put some value in for how many hours this took. In truth, I'm embarrassed to admit how many hours I've spent on where to put this piece of equipment. The actual build time was something like an hour. Well, then I had to prime and paint the two pieces of angle. I know what you're thinking...why paint something that's going to be buried inside access panels only to be seen by me during an annual or some maintenance requirement...and I have an answer for you. I could say I painted the aluminum to prevent corrosion...and I could make that argument seem reasonable fairly easily. I could say that having the interior look uniform will give the FAA inspector a sense of my skill and meticulous nature. The truth is....vanity. There you have it. The Vertical Power unit is expensive so it gets to live where it's pretty.
