Brief Description: Installing the bottom and top rudder caps
Today I attached the rudder bottom and top caps. The bottom cap went on easily after I carefully marked and measured drill points with just over 2" spacing.
The top cap took some sanding and cutting. The top cap's rear-most flange had to be cut off (about an inch forward) so that it would fit inside the rudder's skin flanges. I also sanded the top cap's flanges so that they would fit inside the rudder skins but not be forced upward by the top rudder rib. Once the fit looked good, I match-drilled using the pre-drilled skin holes, deburred, dimpled, and pop-riveted.
