Brief Description: Preparing the VS Ribs and Bulkheads
Today I worked on straightening and fluting the vertical stabilizer ribs. There are only 4 so it really went quickly. For now I just fluted and straightened and did some light scotchbrite work on nose ribs to prevent skin creasing when we dry the fit the skin. Clecoed the ribs to the front and rear vertical stabilizer spars.
Next operation was final drilling VS-808PP, VS-410PP, VS-411PP and VS-412PP to the VS-803PP to #30 holes. This was a repetitive operation and requires you to keep track of where you are in the sequence so you don't double drill and waste time. Make sure you keep the drill perpendicular to the work so you don't elongate your holes. IMPORTANT!
I was able to use the rib straightening tool I built a while ago. Works awesome!
