Brief Description:  Fwd Equipment Placement Design

There are several important components that needed to be located in the forward fuselage. Chief among these are for the engine ignition system and electrical generation. A cross piece of hardwood is used near the top of the firewall to mount several components including the twin voltage regulators with related components and the diode based ignition switcher which switches between the primary (electronic) ignition system and backup (points) ignition system. A Dekota Digital tack adapter is provided that converts a pulsed signal from a Hall Efect tooth counter on the starter ring gear to a usuable signal for the desired instrumentation.

A metal U channel (wide but low) is connected to the firewall cross piece and after a steap down to the proper waterline is attached to the fuselage cross member that serves as the attachement for the lower end instrument panel. This channel mounts the twin ignition coils along with the parking brake selector valve and brake fluid reservior. It also supports an external backup battery module for a Dynon SkyView display (if used) and a UMA lighting power inverter (AC power if used) to supply lighting to any convertional instruments.

The upper deck of the forward fuselage will be removable to facilitate access to these components as well as the back of the instrument panel and sub-panel.
