1) I took a few minutes to see how the Andair gasocolator can be positioned to clear the engine mount and I got a bit of a surprise, a cross tube between the lower mount points that I had not noticed previously. As you can see in the photo, having that tube running across the lower firewall is going to force a bit of a redesign but I like these little challenges. The changes are not too big actually and it starts with making a mounting bracket that can securely hold the gasocolator away from the firewall and in front of the cross tube. It will be almost 2†from the firewall so the bracket needs to be stiff so I am going to use extruded angle rather than a bent part made from sheet stock. I already have some 6061-T6 angle that has 4†sides and is 0.125†thick which should be quite adequate so that is the material I will be using.
