Brief Description:  Audio Switching and Av Cooling Design

"The audio switching is accomplished through several miniture toggle switches and an audio combiner system provided by Flight Data Systems. Provision is for two Comm transceiver sources along with two Nav Audio sources and CWA Tones. The comm radios can be selected to automaticall pair receve with transmit select or have both transceivers audio simultaneously. The nav audio is a simple Off/Nav1/Nav2 selection.

The Aft Avionics compartments is somewhat isolated and enclosed so it is provided with forced air cooling fans. The air is fed from the area behind the seat and is ducted out into the tailcone. The compartment is subdivided into two separate compartments by the tunnel for the elevator control push/pull rod so cooling has to be provided to each side. Both ends will have screens to keep insects or critters out of the compartment. These fans will be needed to keep the temperature down during operations in warm weather and their use is optional in cool weather. I might add a thermostat to automate the system operation based on actual need."
