Brief Description:  Instrument Panel Concept

"A basic concept for the instrument panel. The engine display will by the Dynon EMS D120 system. The radios will be limited to dual comm, dual VOR/ILS and a Mode S Transponder plus the panel mount of a portable GPS (non-IFR).

My desire is to eventually go with a 10"" SkyView display backed up by a pair of EFID D10A displays. This can accomodate a variety of radio opitions up to the IFR capable configuration shown here. It utilizes the Dynon Skyview Comm radios and Mode S Transponder. This of course is a rather expensive panel (around $20K) so it could be a long time before I upgrade that much.

The guage at the lower left is a Fuel/Air Mixture guage with a selector switch between left and right exhaust. The dashed green line shows the outline of the forward fuselage. Fuel selector is attached to the wing spar below and between my knees. The bottom of the instrument panel conceals a structural cross member (retangular steel tube) that prevents fuselage widening under bending loads and provides an excellent lower attach point for the panel. The Controls for the Engine, electrical system, interior / exterior lighting and cabin climate control are all located on the sub panel that mounts below the main panel."
