Brief Description: Investigate Tight Crankshaft During Rotation
Investigate tight crankshaft during rotation once the crankcase bolts were torqued to specifications.
Careful inspection reveals that the prop hub is out of round and is rubbing on the crankase. Not evident in the pictures, but while watching the video of the flange O.D. run out measurement, I can see an irregularity on the dial indicator. Inspection of the flange O.D. shows that there was insufficient material when the O.D. was machined, resulting in an area of smaller diameter. This is not affecting the overall run out measurement, but shows that there were problems machining this part.
