Brief Description: Fabricate Main Gear Leg Fairings
Continue working on landing gear leg fairings. Install right wheel pant, test fit of leg fairing. Drill -10 hinge to #30 & cleco. Fairing is ~ 2.5" too short. WTF. I cut per DWG L06, 20 5/8" long overall. Also the DWG pattern shows the top side @ the lower end (meets the wheel pant) is curved, but the wheel pant side is flat. WTF #2. I cut the fairing for -08 (tri-gear) not -7 (standard gear). Oops ! My bad, the parts on the DWG are clearly marked, although I would question the layout of the DWG. Why not arrange the standard gear fairing next to the picture of the standard gear & fuselage layout?
The fairing was not bent quite perfectly anyway, so time to move on and fabricate a new one. 2nd time will be better.
