Begin fabricating new T02-03 Elevator Assembly. I never liked the way the 1st elevator attached to the horizontal stabilizer. I had fabricated the entire elevator assembly before fitting it to the stab, and as a result the elevator and stab were not parallell, about a 3/8" gap in the middle. It would seem that the elevator control horn end plates are not at the correct angles, which is why the drawings say to let it float inside of the skins when fitting to the stab. I could easily push them together to insert the hinge pins, but decided to fabricate a new elevator and follow the instructions when fiting it to the stab before drilling the skins for the elevator control horn and root ribs.
