Brief Description:  Started Riveting Left Wing Top Skin

My partner, Todd Sullivan, found some time to come help out on the plane. We started riveting the inboard top wing skin onto the left wing. This was Todd's first time working on an airplane, so I had him buck the skin rivets while I drove them. He did a great job and picked things up quickly.

Todd's a really smart guy and he informed me the day after we did this that I had been mis-reading my rivet gauges all along. Turns out that most of my rivets are slightly overdriven based on the 1.5d diameter & .5d tall shop head standards. We inspected all of the rivets that had been driven so far and decided that it would do more damage than good to drill any of them out. They were only slightly overdriven. As I did more research, I discovered that some of the rivets that Van's uses are impossible to get a "perfect" shop head and are typically slightly over-driven. Whew!
