Also numerous hours of assistance from Barrie Strachan. Barrie manufactured and modified parts in his well equipped machine shop which greatly assisted the progress of the project.

During this interval we put the stops for travel of the elevator, installed the cables for the elevator and tensioned them to 25 pounds tension. The wire to the trim tab motor was strung through the fuselage and spliced to the piece attached to the embedded trim jackscrew motor and the supplied switch tested. The wire from the trim motor was strung outside the fuselage at the tail to avoid conflict with the elevator mechanism. It was them protected with a cover manufactured by Barrie. See Image 2.

The panel was populated with the supplied electronics. I added a 12V aux supply (lighter plug) and the trim tab position indicator (which Zenith had planned to be indicated in the Dynon 180). With Barrie's help we added a red LED to indicate low alternator voltage (from the green wire on the Jabiru 3300 regulator) and a green LED to indicate current flowing to the flaps. Barrie designed the circuit to sample the current and feed the LED. The flaps are two position up and down with limit switches in the motor housing to cut off the current at the extremes. The only way to monitor that it does shut off is to sense the current.

All flaperon motions were checked for limits and smooth action.

Barrie took measurements and planned to build supports at the rear of the panel for the electronics trays. See rear of panel in Image 1.

The rudder cables were fed through the fuselage for later use. The trim tab wire was also strung
