Brief Description: Work on fuselage problem and flaperons
Over this period the work has been of two kinds. First, the work on the fuselage problem. The fuselage appears to be twisted. If I put the rudder on it would not be standing straight up. So it has to be fixed. With advice from Dave Norwood, the mechanic at Parowan, who I called in for advice, I unriveted both the right side and the bottom skins. It was found that the right side did not follow correctly the slight curvature of the top of the skin in the proper direction. It angled down right from behind the cockpit for some unknown reason. By the time this got to the tail end it was very noticeable.
As of this date I have found a way to straighten this out. I have ordered a new skin and tomorrow the start will begin putting it all back together again.
At the same time I have been working on the flaperons. There are of course four of them, they are reasonably complex and they have to be built and the taken apart an rebuilt after deburring and zinc treatment. So there are altogether 8 assemblies. As of this minute there are two more to go.
