These hours were spent in completing the skeleton of one (of four) sections of flaperon (the inner right one). After deburring and treating the ribs and spars the skeleton was riveted together. At this time the skin was stretched over the skeleton. This was done with carefully clicoing the ribs to the bottom and then using straps to pull the skin over the leading edge and drilling and clicoing all the ribs and spars. Then it was disassembled, deburred and treated. Then it was reassembled and riveted.

The end ribs are different from the interior ribs and are attached to the spar with a flange which must be individually fitted to each end rib. This is time consuming and with close tolerances. I had to replace a couple of flanges and ordered more.

The stretching over the leading edge is difficult to do without getting dents in the skin. We got a couple of dents in this one.

The inboard left flaperon was then started and as of this date it has been assembled and then disassembled, deburred and treated. The next step is to put it together again. This one did not go as smooth and several dents are on the leading edge. The skeleton of the right outboard flaperon is clico'd together and will be next.
