It also includes 0.8 of Carole's time on 8/10.

I put all the parts in the baggage compartment and the seat bases in to see how it all fits together. The parts had not been in place since the fwd and rear fuselage parts were joined. I will clico them all in place. It looks ok at the moment. There are some rivet lines that need to be drilled which were not available while the fwd and rear parts were separate.

After studying the drawings, I see that these parts cannot be permanently put in place until the rudder cable fairleads are in place. I only had two fairleads in the parts and it appears that 3 or 4 are needed. I called and that is the case. The fairlead at the point of the control column bearing has not been distributed yet and will be from the factory when ready,. (This was a shock...that some parts are not even manufactured yet!) The two fairleads supplied go on the bulkhead under the baggage compartment and I will now do these.

I had to buy a 1/4 inch 28 tpi tap to tap the lower nose gear strut bearing. This has now been done and all is ready to permanently install the strut.

The mounting of the tubeless nose tire was an experience since the Matco instructions were wrong. They say to roll the O ring down about an inch but it will not stay there. Upon calling them I found that you must roll it all the way to the rim. To do this, the tire must be snugly on the rim. I did this by cutting a plywood circle and using that and the drill press, forcing the tire on one rim. This worked fine.
