Brief Description: Built stand for tail surfaces. Worked on slats
Of the hours listed, 1.6 were by Carole who spent her time deburring.
Spent the morning doing woodworking. Built a stand to safely hold the horizontal stabilizer and the elevator in the shop and also for transporting it if necessary. Made of 2x4s and strips of carpet. See Figure 1. Figure 2 shows part of the right wing slats which have been deburred and are ready to add the zinc oxide and rivet up. Figure 3 shows the status of the left wing slats. The doublers have been riveted on and the ribs have been attached with clecos along with the support and the bent "L". The L's were made on the drill press and the band saw and were easy to make. However, fitting the convex curve to the ribs while attaching the "L" and the support at the same time is tedious. I put it together once using the guide holes and the small clecos. Then took them out one by one, drilled to A4 and replaced with the A4 cleco. This is a time demanding process.
