Brief Description: Drilled left slat skin for doublers. Fabricated L
Began by carefully studing the plans 75S1 and 75SA1. Noted the important differences between the left and right slats and carefully sorted out the parts for each. They both have doublers in the skin and started by drilling holes for these, deburring them and applying zink oxide so as to go ahead and rivet them on in the next session. Studied how the ribs and slat supports fit together and also how a bent "L" section reinforces the ribs. Examined how to clico this all together so as to be able to bend the skin inward to a convex curve on the next session. Figure 1 shows the skins and doublers ready for riveting. Figure 2 shows how the bent "L" sections were fabricated on the drill press and band saw. Figure 3 shows how the slat support fits on the rib.
