Brief Description: Prepared to skin stabilizer. Treated spar doublers
This includes 1 hour on 1/26/09 and 2 hours help from Carole.
Got the entire stabilizer clecod together and studied how to put on the big skin. After studying decided that the doublers had to be riveted because the clecos holding them on would get in the way of drilling the holes for the skin at the spars. Therefore took the stabilizer all apart and then deburred all the holes on the doublers and matching spars. Then applied zinc oxice to the doubler and spar surfaces. The put the stabilizer back together again with clecos. It is now ready to rivet the doublers in place. The rest of the riveting will await the fitting of the skin.
I laid the elevator up against the stabilizer and it looks like the hinges will fit fine.
