Note that on 11/2 both Barrie Strachan and Jim Rosser assisted the entire time. Also, Dave Norwood, the A and I mechanic at Parowan Aero, visited on an invited, paid, visit and looked the plane over. He gave advice on the elevator controls, control stick, brake lines, roll-trim, and other comments. He thinks the kit is coming just fine. His comments were very helpful and encouraging.

The big progress was from a work party on 11/1 which installed the brake lines. These were finished by CJ and me a couple of days later. First attempt at bleeding from the bottom was not successful. Couldn't get the plastic hose to stay on the bleeder point. Will now call Roger Lee, a LS mechanic to see how to do it. Found a few empty rivet holes and riveted them.

Wired the R and L wing lights to a terminal strip back near the flap motor. A wire from there to the cockpit is roughly in place. Awaiting the arrival of the tail light wire to complete this.

I bought Home Depot cable and fittings to "practice" putting in the elevator cables. This is now done. It shows where some Nylon fairleads are required to keep the cable from rubbing on the stabilizer. It also showed that the location of the control stick needs to be moved (this is anticipated in the drawings. When the control cables were equal in length, or 90 degrees from the linkage arm, the control stick hit the forward bulkhead before allowing full up throw of the elevator. Fairly easy to fix, following instructions. When this is done I will install the supplied, final elevator control cables. This clears the way to start on the rudder.

Sorry, no pix this time.
