I also received valuable help from Barrie Starchan, who provided new machined parts for two of the brackets holding on the horizontal stabilizer which did not fit well and for shims to allow proper alignment of the stabilizer.

A few hours were used completing the installation of the jury struts.

This work included the preliminary and final fitting of the horizontal stabilizer on the fuselage. The stab is aligned in three dimensions.

Lateral angle: Parallel with the fuselage (measured right to left)
Horizontal Rotation: Right and left: Equal distance to right and left points on the cabin windows.
Angle of Incidence: Zero to minus one degree in relation to the tubing on the cabin frame.

All of these were met with the use of one shim in one of the attachments. The holes in two of the attachment brackets were too close to the top edge so Barrie Strachan made two replacements which extended higher.

The stabilizer is firmly riveted and bolted on.

Other time was used to build a map box for the right side of the panel.

Work started to install the elevator on the stabilizer.
