...Cut canopy and split the windscreen...Devastating...Foolishly I began cutting just before World Series game. I had the canopy resting on the plane raised slightly off the fuselage with a piece of 2X4 so the cutting disk wouldn't drop thru plexi and cut alum. skin underneath. As I used the cutoff disk caming from PAX side to center, when cut reached the supported 2X4, a split occured about 5" in length. I tried to fool myself in believing I imagined it but I had heard the split also. The Lord helped me not to curse, but I was in a sour mood for 24 hours. I called Van's and they reccomended buying a new windscreen for $350. the whole bubble is $1000 so I guess it could have been worse.
