Brief Description:  Install Temperature Probe Wiring

1730 - 2000

I decided to install diagnostic temperature monitor wiring. This will allow in cockpit monitoring of FWF temperatures and with additional probes any other necessary temperature. This was the most opportune time to run the wiring as the instrument panel and access panels were open.

Four runs of 22/3/shielded wire were prepared and routed. The wires were terminated in pairs; Each six pin connector will monitor two temperature probes. The probes were fabricated using LM34 sensors which will read in 10 degree F per millivolt. When displayed on a digital voltmeter, 1 volt will equal 100 degrees F. The sensors are accurate from -50F to 300 F. Two 6 pin Deutsch connectors will remain permanently in the firewall pass through.

The probes were fabricated in 3 lengths..3', 4', and 5'. Two probes were made for each length. The different lengths will allow for monitoring temperatures anywhere within the cowling.

Tomorrow, I plan on bleeding the brakes...AGAIN. The Loctite 567 will have set for 48 hours.
